I specialize in printmaking especially etching aquatint and my other passion is painting seascapes and landscapes in acrylics. I am also interested in photography and experimenting with digital art. As a starting point, I use a mixture of sketches and photography to create prints and paintings. The artwork and design featured on this web site originates from my school, college and university days and also more recent work that I have created from regular printmaking workshops and art holidays. I regularly exhibit my art in the annual Stockport Art Guild exhibition of which I am a member.

Getting prepared

I have spent most of today preparing for the Macclesfield print fair next weekend. I have also been running off some Lino prints which I will be selling as greeting cards. I am trying to cater for all price ranges and tastes.

Printmaking in Devon and 94th SAG Annual Art Exhibition news

I recently returned from an enjoyable and informative three day printmaking workshop in Tavistock, Devon. During my stay, I produced two new etching prints and also completed my unfinished etching of Stockport Market. The printmaking workshop was organised by Mary Gillett who runs the Tamar Print Workshops throughout the year.

On my return home, I learned two of my prints are in the 94th Stockport Art Guild annual art exhibition which has it’s preview opening today at Stockport Art Gallery.

1st Macclesfield Print Fair

I will be taking part in the first ever Macclesfield Print Fair being held on Saturday 20th September 2014 between 10 am to 3 pm. I will be selling a good selection of my own printmaking from cards to framed prints. Please visit and support.

The Macclesfield Heritage Centre this year is celebrating it’s 200^th birthday! To celebrate this fact we are hosting a number of exciting events, including the first Macclesfield Print Fair in September 2014. The fair will take place in the original classrooms of the Sunday School and we are looking for print artists and print makers from across the North West to come along and sell their printed items and demonstrate their print techniques. We are looking for the whole range of Printers to sell and demonstrate from silkscreen printing to lino cut, fabric printing to etching, illustrators to comic book creators!

New additions

I am hoping to take some more photographs in town in the next few months. I was looking at my list of landmarks to use in my printmaking project and feel I need to add a few more. This list could get bigger than I expect!
The new subjects are; Crown Inn with Viaduct and Little Underbank. Apparently, I have been informed that there are a set of old photographs of Stockport on display in St. Mary’s church which I will check out in due course.
