Photowalks, holidays and history

August was a busy month for me and also time off from this blog and printmaking. I had an enjoyable 9 day holiday in Scotland taking in the Edinburgh Fringe, Inverness, Loch Ness and Glasgow and also organizing two tours of Stockport. In between my holidays and walks, I have taken some new photographs mainly of Reddish Vale viaduct and country park which I have never visited before. I wasn’t disappointed and hope to return to this lovely place in the future.

The photo walk I devised went very well apart from the rain which didn’t dampen spirits of those that attended. Some eye catching imagery was created on the day. The results of the photo walk can be found here at the meetup.com site: http://bit.ly/1IQk7n5

We were blessed with nice sunny weather for the Stockport Explorer Guided Tour in mid August. We learnt how Strawberry Studios was put on the  music map with the likes of artists such as; 10cc, Neil Sedaka and Paul McCartney. We also learnt about the devastating plane crash that happen in 1967 and we were lucky enough to meet one of the eye witnesses who rescued people from the crash site.

At present, I am working on my 20:20 Hotbed press print for October. Fingers crossed it will be ready for the deadline.

Bye for now.
